The Visitor B2B amp; B2C Train is the organization in ManoMano Tech focused on the customer journey and experience including ManoMano’s Website and Apps. We have a dedicated gear towards B2C, focusing in the Consumer persona, and another gear towards B2B, focusing in the Professional persona. The way these 2 different personas access, discover and think on using our products and services is quite different. Even though ManoMano is a marketplace for Home Improvement and DIY b2c and b2b users come to us for very different purposes. And this is reflected in the way we build our products.
With the Catalog Train serving millions of product through their channel management solutions and the Buyers Train processing orders, payments, invoices and deliveries, the Visitor Train is really at the heart of the customer experience.
By being the largest Tech sub organization in ManoMano, the Visitors are handling an avg of 850 rps that the website, apps and multiple Microservices are supporting. Our ambition is to be at the top of the JDN ranking (Web performance ranking in France) as a good estimation of how well we are doing in terms of performance. Our technical performance is directly linked with our SEO performance which is key for our overall Marketing costs.
Our backend services use Java/Kotlin, GoLang, PHP and NodeJS. Accessed via REST and GraphQL, with ultra optimized indexes, caching layers with Redis and our external CDN to be able to handle peaks of traffic that are way above the 1500 rps.
Our frontends are NextJS with react, redux and redux-saga in the website and React Native for the apps.
The Engineering Lead position:
It’s the person leading the software engineers in a Feature Team. You are responsible for exploring, designing and building the solution for each problem the Product Manager is intending to solve for the user.
You are mastering the scope of your team, with both backend and frontend knowledge you are able to architect a solution, code it, deploy it and run it.You will be leading a multidisciplinary team of 4 to 10 software engineers, with multiple levels, including, why not, Staff engineers that will complement your coding skills and have a rounded team of front, back and app devs.
The Engineering Lead is our first tier in the management track, so we’re asking you to lead, coach, mentor and follow the people in your team.You are the main visible face from your team to the rest of the Tech organization.You foster innovation, creativity, explorations, to make sure the product you and your team is developing is a performant, robust, resilient, scalable, usable and up to date Tech product.We are expecting you to bring:
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ year leading a team of software engineers
  • Mastering 3 or more of the following backend stacks: Java/Kotlin, Golang, NodeJS, REST, GraphQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Postgres, Redis
  • Mastering 3 or more of the following frontend stacks: ReactJS, NextJS, Redux, redux-saga, Typescript, SaSS, styled components, Enzyme, React testing library, Jest, React Native
  • Mastering devops practices in the Cloud with Kubernetes and 1 or more cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Microservice Architectures and DDD
And it would be great if:
  • Used to work with APMs and Monitoring tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Firebase, Sentry
  • Following performance through SLOs
  • Experience Hiring and Performance management
